Here at OARS-HPSG, we spend a lot of time researching and trying out new hardware that has the potential to change how we survey and map the subsea environment. Sometimes you come upon a new piece of kit that really impresses everybody in the office and produces usable data products that can change how we do business. 2G Robotics ULS-500 is one of those products. We were lucky enough to be involved in the collaboration with 2G Robotics and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary to document America's maritime heritage.
